In September 2007, the Beville Group contracted Bovis Lend Lease, a reputable and experienced construction company to project manage, design and build the first stage of the development.

Works to demolish the existing centre were completed in February 2008. Construction of the new centre commenced in late April 2008 and is expected to take approximately 36 months, with the centre opening progressively from late 2009. The management of all potential impacts during construction is a high priority for the construction team. The project is committed to creating an incident & injury free environment to ensure the safety of the workforce and the public, and to minimising impacts and inconvenience to the local community. Special attention will be paid to children attending Ryde Public School, and other childcare centres close to the site To ensure public safety all work areas associated with the project are enclosed within fencing and hoarding.
