Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show Mom just how much we appreciate her.  With 10th of May just around the corner,  we’ve rounded up some simple crafts ideas that will make perfect DIY gifts for Mum. Pair these handmade goodies with takeaway from her favourite restaurant or a gift card to her favourite store and you’re sure to impress!  Let’s get crafting!

This handmade card is super cute and so easy! It doesn’t need a template and doesn't require many materials. Plus - if you have scrap paper, you can make this an up-cycled card! Your Mum will be wowed with how well this 3D card will turn out, and your special message to her will make her day! You can find the full tutorial HERE.

What you’ll need:

  • Construction paper (if you only have white paper, you can colour it instead of getting more coloured paper)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

What to do:

  1. Trace 2 heart shapes on paper (one bigger than the other) and cut them ourt
  2. Glue the smaller heart inside the larger heart (ensure one of the hearts is coloured in or done with coloured construction paper).
  3. Cut out leaf shapes and a stem on green paper (or colour paper green).
  4. Glue this to the bottom of the smaller heart in the middle, and glue leaves onto the stems.
  5. Fold your creation in half.
  6. Trace tulip shapes on paper. The more shapes the better, you can either use the same colour or make them multi-colour.
  7. Cut your flowers out and fold them in half. Glue the halves one on top of the other. Once they are all together, glue the end of one half to the inside of your heart (on top of your stem) and then glue the other side down as well.
  8. Close card to set the glue.

The perfect tasty bouquet to create for Mum!  This craft is super quick and colourful, and you can make it with any type of store-bought lollipop. You can even put your own spin on it and put different messages on each one of the leaves. This little gift is perfect for any Mum that has a bit of a sweet tooth! You can find the full tutorial HERE.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 lollipop of your choice
  • Cupcake baking cups (assorted sizes)
  • A pencil or a pen
  • Green construction paper (or white paper coloured green)

What to do:

  1. Use a pencil to poke a hole in the middle of the cups. (use full stops or not consistently – they’re used in the above step-by-step but inconsistent here)
  2. Layer the cup sizes smallest to largest - using a few of each size
  3. Slide the cups up the stem of the lollipop
  4. Fold your paper in half, and cut a leaf shape along the folded line. Unfold the paper and place a piece of tape in the middle of the fold. Wrap the paper around the base of the lollipop stem, using the tape to it in place.

These coupons are fun, easy and a failsafe way to make your Mum feel appreciated. These little coupons can be given to your Mum to ‘redeem’ when she needs a little break. Some great examples are: breakfast in bed, one FREE dinner, one kitchen cleanup, or one dog walk. Get creative here and think about things your Mum deserves a break from! Another option is to print off coupon templates to write on, and you can find those HERE.

What you’ll need:

  • Paper
  • Paint or coloured markers
  • Pen

What to do:

  1. Fold paper in three equal sections, and then fold paper in half. Cut paper into six equal sections
  2. Write what Mum gets to redeem. Example: Kitchen Cleanup.
  3. Colour your coupon and add fun unique touches.
